City Beach will host a Fall (October) Tryout for both Area Teams (and National Teams, based on need).

12-Black
*Katie Keller will returns as the head coach 12-Black for the upcoming season. Katie is a graduate of Santa Clara University. Katie has been a huge part of City Beach since joining the staff. She is currently our Juniors Program Coordinator and also the head coach at Leigh High School.

*Jeremy Dicks, a graduate of CU Boulder and Palma HS (Salinas), will enter his first full season at City Beach. Jeremy has helped our teams as a practice coach as well as assisted in various tournaments over the past season. Jeremy's previous coaching experience includes Monterey Bay Volleyball Club and IMUA Volleyball Club.

11-Black
*Sara Dudenhoffer will be joining City Beach for the her first season. Sara, born and raised in Walnut Creek played HS at Northgate and club at Pinnacle Volleyball Club. After high school, Sarah played for the club team at Chico State and started her coaching journey. She has coached high school in Chico as well as club in Arizona. Welcome to the staff!

*Kyra Nguyen returns to City Beach after assisting 14-White as well as 16-Winston last season. Kyra approaches her teams with unmatched spirit and enthusiasm. Kyra also currently leads our popular Junior Jumper program!

Introducing our u11-14s Area Coaches!!

12-Melanie
*Melanie Corona returns to 12-Area! A native of Sonoma, Melanie played club at Empire and went on to compete in 3 Final-4s during her career at CSU Bakersfield. We are excited to have Melanie back and to share her wealth of experience with the future ballers!

13-Maile
*Maile joins CB for her first season back in the Bay Area. A former CB player, Maile competed collegiately at UoH Hilo, Iona College, and Hawaii Pacific. Maile has coached 16-1 and 18-2 boys and club camps at T-Street Volleyball Club. Welcome back!

13/14-Anna
*Anna will coach in the 14s age group for the 2nd year in a row. Prior to CB, Anna spent 10+ seasons coaching at Ohlone Juniors. We are excited to see Anna enthusiasm and spirit back in the gym!

14-Kevin
*Coach Kevin is a Southbay native and will be coaching his first year at City Beach. Kevin has been in the youth development and education sector for 10 years and brings 7 years of elementary, high school, and club coaching experience. Kevin will also be head coaching our 13-Green team. Welcome to CB!

14-Winston
*Winston Kwong is the longest-tenured coach at City Beach. An administrative staff at San Jose State, Winston will once again coach both a National and Area team. Winston's coaching experience includes 12 years at Menlo School where they were perennial league and sectional finalists. Winston will coach 16-White as well as 14-Winston this season!

13-Black
*Nick Rovetto is back another year with us! Nick spent last season coaching 13-Green, he will take over as the head coach of 13-Black this season. During his time at CB, he has coached our 16 and 17 Black teams. Nick is a graduate of Bellarmine College Prep and Santa Clara University. Interesting fact, he holds 3 degrees from SCU!

*Joey Rovetto joins us for his first full season! During his time at Bellarmine College Prep and Loyal Marymount University, Joey completed on the men's volleyball teams. He is currently the Varsity Assistant at Leigh High School (San Jose). We are excited to have Joey will bring his setter/libero expertise to 13-Black!

13-Green
*Coach Kevin is a Southbay native and will be coaching his first year at City Beach. Kevin has been in the youth development and education sector for 10 years and brings 7 years of elementary, high school, and club coaching experience. Welcome to CB!

*Codi Lepak-Murphy, a second-year assistant, will be assisting 13-Green this season. Codi played club for BAVC and recently completed a season at Solano CC. Codi attended and competed in volleyball at Carondelet HS in Concord.

Introducing our 14's National team coaches!!

14-Black
*Kimberly Meyers is returning for her 7th season with City Beach. In that time she helped 2 teams qualify for USAV Nationals and trained numerous athletes currently competing at the collegiate level. Kim played club on the Texas circuit and competed collegiately on SCU's NCAA team. Kim's passion for hard work and success shows through all the athletes that she has coached.

*Valerie Tam joins City Beach! This will be Valerie's first season with the club. She comes to us from Academy Volleyball Club where she coached 14s and 17s. She has played volleyball from elementary school through college, and continues to play today. Valerie also enjoys coaching adults in her extra spare time! Valerie's passions include travel and food!

14-Green
*Trieu Tran returns for a second season. Trieu brings back his extensive experience working with middle-school age groups. He has spent the past 14 years coaching various clubs in the Bay Area. Trieu enjoys bicycling and outdoor recreation in his free time and is a father to 2 little ones. We are excited to have him back!

*Katie Hodges, a native of Wisconsin, will return for her 3rd season with City Beach. Katie will assist 14-Green after head coaching various teams on the Area side. Katie competed at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and helped the team to an NCAA tournament appearance in 2017. During Katie's prep career, she was voted 2x All-Conference as well as winning the 2013 Wisconsin Division 2 State Championship!

We love the passion and experience this group of coaches brings. Let's go 14's!!!!

17-Black
*Dustin Moore returns to the coaching staff after being away from the sideline this past season. Dustin has been a staple in Bay Area volleyball for the past 30+ years. Some achievements by his teams include 2 CIF State titles (Woodside Priory & Presentation), an NCAA D-1 Final Four appearance (Santa Clara), and numerous USAV-qualified teams. We are beyond excited to have Dustin back on the bench!

*Nicole Rodamer will once again assume head coaching duties after spending 2023 assisting 16-Black. Nicole has been with City Beach for the past 17 seasons. Besides club, Nicole has also coached at various high schools (Washington, Moreau, Amador), and colleges (Ohlone, SJCC).

*Maya Wooten joins CB for the first season. A native of Fremont, Maya graduated from Oak Ridge HS and committed to playing volleyball at Albany State. Due to an injury, Maya medically retired in 2021. While she is a current student at Georgia State, she is interning locally as part of her college curriculum!

We are excited about what these 2 teams are going to achieve in 2024!

16-Black
*Jacky Yao will return for his 9th season at CB. Between club and HS stops including SBVC, Dos Pueblos and Mitty, Jacky brings over 20+ seasons of coaching experience. Jacky is also the Head Coach at Amador Valley High School.

*Melanie Corona joins the National staff for year 1! Melanie brings a wealth of experience to the staff. A native of Sonoma, Melanie played club at Empire and went on to compete in 3 Final-4s during her career at CSU Bakersfield.

16-Green
*Kasey Faatiliga will be the head coach for 16-Green. Kasey competed on the men's club team and graduated from UC San Diego. Kasey is well known for his enthusiasm and passion for the sport. He will coach with Katie at Leigh High School this coming season.

15-Katie: Katie Hodges is back for a 3rd season with City Beach! Katie currently works as a clinical research coordinator at Stanford University. During her playing career, she competed as a libero at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

16-Anna: Anna will coach in the 16s age group for the 2nd year in a row. Prior to CB, Anna spent 10+ seasons coaching at Ohlone Juniors.

15/16-Jess: Jess has been a mainstay at City Beach over the past decade. Besides club, Jess has made coaching stops at various Bay Area high schools including Presentation, St. Francis, Valley Christian, and Leland HS. In addition to coaching, Jess will also assume the role of Area Program Coordinator!

17/18-Amanda: Amanda will move up to coach our 17/18s Area team! In addition to playing, being a mom to 3, Amanda will also coach the JV team at Los Gatos High School!

15-Black
*Nicole Ciari returns for another season with 15-Black, Nicole is an alum of CB and Cornell College (Iowa). She will also enter the 2024 school year as the head coach at Los Gatos High School!

*Brittany Gillingham will help Nicole lead 15-Black for a 3rd year. Brittany, a lifer at CB, graduated from Presentation HS and competed collegiately at Santa Clara University.

15-Green
*Matt Bauer will enter his first season at CB as the head coach of 15-Green. Matt is currently the varsity head coach at San Leandro High School. Previous coaching stops include St. Joe's HS and various CYO teams.

*Jackson Roberts will assist 15-Green. In addition to coaching, Jackson also currently competes on the UC Santa Cruz men's club team. Jackson is a graduate of Bellarmine and played club at MVVC and Academy.

We are stoked to have these coaches be part of the CB family and lead our 15's National teams for the 2023-24 season!
